Individual Instruction Provided in English by a Certified Schroth Scoliosis Therapist

During the summer vacation period (July–August), Physio Center is accepting reservations for our Intensive Schroth Method Scoliosis Program designed specifically for students.

Many children are identified with scoliosis during school health screenings and are advised by orthopedic specialists to undergo periodic observation. During this observation period, many families wish to help their child develop better postural habits and learn effective strategies to help prevent curve progression.

To accommodate patients traveling from distant regions of Japan—including Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu—Physio Center offers a one-day intensive Schroth Method training program.

The initial program includes:

• Initial assessment, postural evaluation, and Schroth exercise instruction (90 minutes)
• One or two individual follow-up sessions (45 minutes each)

The total training time is approximately three hours. During these sessions, each patient receives individualized instruction based on their specific scoliosis curve pattern, along with guidance regarding daily activities, posture, and self-management strategies.

Individual Exercise Report

To help patients continue their exercises correctly at home, we provide a personalized exercise report that includes:

• Photographs demonstrating the patient's corrective exercise positions
• Detailed written instructions and explanations for each exercise

This report allows both patients and family members to review the exercises at home and continue the program confidently until the next visit.

Ongoing Support After Your Visit

We place great importance on follow-up support after training.

Patients and families may communicate directly with their Schroth therapist via LINE. Questions regarding exercise performance, posture correction, or concerns about whether exercises are being performed correctly can be discussed directly with the therapist.

This system provides reassurance for families traveling from distant locations and helps ensure successful implementation of the exercises between visits.

Scheduling

Sessions typically begin at approximately 1:00 PM. Patients may take a lunch break or rest period of about one hour during the program. Even with a break, all sessions are usually completed by approximately 4:30–5:00 PM.

For patients traveling long distances or planning to return home the same day, we can also offer a schedule beginning at 12:00 PM. Even with a one-hour break, all sessions are generally completed by approximately 4:00 PM, allowing ample time for evening travel plans.

Convenient Access

Physio Center is conveniently located near central Tokyo.

• Shinbashi Station is only one stop from Tokyo Station. A taxi from Shinbashi Station costs approximately ¥500.
• From Haneda Airport, take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho Station (approximately 20 minutes), followed by a short taxi ride of approximately ¥700.

Many families combine their visit with sightseeing in Tokyo or a family vacation during the summer holidays.

Limited Summer Availability

Because Schroth Method instruction requires individualized assessment and one-on-one attention, summer appointments are limited to approximately 2–3 families per week.

Historically, appointment slots from late July through August fill quickly. Families traveling from outside the Tokyo area or those wishing to coordinate appointments around school holidays and family schedules are encouraged to make reservations as early as possible.

Why not use this summer as an opportunity to help your child develop better posture, body awareness, and lifelong self-management skills?
