The Schroth method is a treatment for spinal curvature abnormalities such as scoliosis, which divides the body into blocks of the shoulder, chest, waist, and pelvis, evaluates the positional relationship of each block in three dimensions, and encourages correction. Law. In order to correct the abnormality of the spinal column, we promote not only passive treatment, but also self-correction exercise centered on breathing exercise.
The Schroth method is a scoliosis treatment method that has developed over a long history since it was established by Katherine Schroth of Germany in 1921. In 1983, Katherine and her daughter Christa founded the Katherine Sheros Clinic. After that, Christa further developed this method by adding orthodontic treatment, and in 1972 published a textbook on the principles of three-dimensional scoliosis treatment, and in Germany, scoliosis treatment as a method based on the conservative treatment movement. It has become the most accepted method.
The goals of the Schroth method are to improve posture and prevent deterioration, to help patients/clients understand their own scoliosis anatomically, and to learn exercise methods that suit them. Our ultimate goal is to understand and improve ourselves.
The exercise performed by the Schroth method considers not only lateral distortion (unevenness) but also torsion (axial rotation), and exercises are performed by grasping the distortion in three dimensions according to the individual scoliosis type.
